To infinity and beyond – Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story)

A saying Jake and I have shared for the past 10 years – to us, it means forever.

What do you do outside of work?

I have a very energetic (and incredibly cute) toddler at home who keeps me busy outside of work. My husband Jake and I spend many weekends at the park or at a play café with our daughter Isla. We love to get out and about to visit friends and family whenever we can but do also enjoy a cold day snuggled up inside, watching movies or playing dolls.

What are you most proud about?

Without a doubt, that would be my daughter Isla. She is wild, cheeky, smart, and beautiful. I am not only proud of her as a person, but proud of myself as a mother.

Can you share a funny story?

My husband and daughter got me a beautiful Mother’s Day gift this year and included in that was a set of 4 handcrafted stud earrings. Jake told me that Isla had picked them for me and that made them even more special to me.

The week following Mother’s Day I proudly wore a different set of the earrings my daughter had chosen, and on each day, Isla commented on mummy’s earrings.

She would tell me what colour earrings I was wearing that day, and then she proceeded to throw daddy under the bus….  ‘’Daddy pick mummy earrings’’ she would say, and when I asked her if she helped daddy pick them, her response was always… “No, daddy pick them”

I soon confronted Jake and after a fit of laughter and denial, he finally fessed up that he had in fact chosen the earrings, as the ones Isla had picked for me were ‘’hideous’’.

What do you most love about coming to work each day?

The laughter. We are a fun and energetic team who are not only colleagues, but also friends.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  – Jeremiah 29:11

What do you do outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy spending quality time with my family. My weekends are usually a mix of food, films, family, and friends – including my partner Cody and his mischievous little Jack Russell Terrier – Jacko – or as I like to call him, Jackson.

What are you most proud of?

I take pride in my attitudes towards life, my personal values, and my moral compass. It can be difficult to stand up for what you believe in and I am very grateful that I am surrounded my like-minded people who support and nurture these ideologies.

Can you share an embarrassing moment?

I am not easily embarrassed however in saying that I do have to laugh at some of the things that come out of my mouth in more serious situations.

What do you love most about coming to work each day?

Working with my best friends who never fail to make me laugh.

Something you do not know about me.

My partner and I are both learning Spanish. Cody is studying Spanish at Uni and I attempt to keep pace by learning on Duolingo.
